Crawl Space Air Quality Improved

Crawl Space Air Quality Improved

The connectivity of the ATMOX controller and a Santa-Fe Ultra Series dehumidifier provides an enhanced crawl space air quality solution.

Treat the crawl space like the indoors of the house.

The crawl space air quality is a contributing factor to the air we breathe inside the house. The EPA and ASHRAE give many guidelines to improve overall IAQ within the house.

Apply those same methods to improve the air quality of the crawl space instead of treating it differently. Those tools are:

DEHUMIDIFICATION, FILTRATION, & VENTILATION

Enhanced Filtration with Conditioned & Filtered Ventilation

Dehumidification

Products:

  • Santa Fe Ultra dehumidifier provides drying as needed with elevated humidity.
  • ATMOX internal fans enhance operation and reach of the dehumidifier.

Benefits:

  • Humidity levels controlled by dehumidifier.
  • Air circulated and distributed throughout entire crawl space by the Internal fans.

Filtration

Products:

  • ATMOX controller will direct the fan within the dehumidifier to operate along with the internal fans when humidity is in a mid-range.
  • The MERV 13 filter inside dehumidifier filters air from the entire space as it circulates to and from the dehumidifier.

Benefits:

  • Filtration occurs without the need to run the dehumidifier compressor saving energy and putting less strain on the dehumidifier.

Ventilation

This setup allows for complete control of outside air allowing for air exchanges and moisture reduction with filtered and conditioned air as needed.

Products:

  • The dehumidifier connects a damper and ducting to the outdoor air and uses the fan within the unit as an intake fan.
  • An exhaust fan is used on the other end of the crawl space to balance air flow.
  • The controller directs use of outside air for purposes of ventilation to reduce moisture and to improve air quality. Outside air will only be brought into space within a defined temperature range.

Benefits:

  • Outside air provides air exchanges to improve air quality and provides drying of crawl space when outside air is drier and in desired temperature range.
  • All outside air passes through the MERV 13 filter within dehumidifier ensuring that any harmful outdoor particles are filtered. (Dehumidifier compressor does not need to operate when outside air is drier.)
  • With any higher outside humidity levels, the outside air will be conditioned if necessary to allow air exchanges.
